Many politicians and executives have concerns about blogging, for fear of writing something that will eventually come back to haunt them, or of being deluged with hate mail and disparaging comments.
Now, imagine being the head of one of the most criticized global organizations, and blogging while conducting top-level negotiations around the clock with the world's sharpest diplomats, with 3000 journalists watching your every move and protesters staging demonstrations every day under your nose?
That is what Pascal Lamy, Director General of the World Trade Organization, did on his ad hoc blog throughout the 6-day Doha Cycle negotiations in Hong Kong last December.
Netpolitique requested an interview, which took place on Jan. 4, 2006, to ask him a few questions about his experience as a newcomer to the blogosphere. During the conversation, Pascal Lamy also revealed some of his plans to make better use of the internet to improve WTO's communication with the global public.
